Vintage Thingie Thursday - Honey Pots

It is time for another Vintage Thingie Thursday. If you like vintage, antique or retro you will love seeing what others have to share this week at Suzanne's Coloradolady.

If you have been around VTT for a while, you know of my collection of bees. You can see that collection here and here.

Christmas brought many items to add to my collection. It seemed there was a theme. I received all these honey pots.

I love the green of this one.

This one would not hold much honey.

And he looks terribly mad about it.

My mom sent me this one. She found it at a garage sale for ten cents. It did not bother me a bit that she found my Christmas present at a garage sale. It is the only one that has a dipper with it.

This one has to be my favorite. Look at the crazing on it. Yes, it has been cracked, but that just adds to its charm. It does not have a dipper but a ceramic spoon.

To see other vintage things, click on the Vintage Thingie Thursday button at the top of this post.

Just love these honey pots. I don't mind if my presents come from garage sales either. In fact I've given gifts that I bought second hand. I'd hoped people didn't think I was being cheap, it was stuff that I knew they would like.

Those are super cute! We had the bee shaped one but it sat on a brass rack posing as the legs. It was not very sturday and the bee would often fall from the rack making a mess of honey!

Isn't it nice when family and friends know what you like? Your honey pots are so pretty, and each one is so different from the other. I especially like the bee one. He really does look pretty mad that somebody has stolen his honey! You better BEE careful getting honey out of there!
Happy VTT!

Hi Bea,
I love your collection of honey pots. Your family and friends know what to look for!
I was reading your profile. I grew up in Kansas too (Atchison). Where did you live? We are currently settled in the Kansas City area.

These are ALL adorable, and I personally like the worker bee the best, whether he can hold much honey or not!

Great honey pots! My favorite is the angry bee...well, wouldn't you be angry if someone took your honey?!

That is a great collection of bee items. Also, they are a size that does not take up much room. Loved it.

Bea, I love your Christmas gifts, and I agree, I wouldn't mind one bit my Christmas present being bought at a garage sale, it is the item that is important and what a special item it is.
The last one is my favorite one, I love to wonder just what tales it could tell.
Hope you have a great day
Molly

Nice honey pots!!
I keep honey bees in my backyard.
I collect salt and peppers containers. I did find beehive once-- but their was too much damage to the salt one-- it still had salt in it-- some people don't understand that you never leave salt in old containers because the moist damp weather can get into the salt and eat the ceramic. When not in use-- take salt out!!
