Questions I Asked Myself Today

  • Why do I dislike dusting and vaccuuming so much yet enjoy a clean house?
  • Why can I not acquire a taste for cleaning like I did for asparagus or brussel sprouts?
  • Am I the only one who uses a shop vac on the floors?
  • How come there is always dirt on the floor after I have gone over it twice?
  • Does an old house get dirty quicker than a new house?
  • Why can't the house stay clean?
  • Why is it no matter how thorough I am in cleaning, there is always something I miss?
  • Why do these stupid sea gulls live so far inland? Don't they know they can fly less than an hour as the "seagull" flies and be at the ocean?

Now back to your regularly scheduled blog...

LOL, are we lost sisters seperated at birth...lol..I ask myself those questions everyday, no one loves a clean house better than me, but hates to clean any worse than me.
I love your house, it is so beautiful. I know you enjoy living in it.

Oh dear. I think I could have written this. This is the story of my life, right down to the seagulls.

Great questions - I've asked them myself too - especially the one about why no matter how much I clean why do I always miss something. Great post!

I ponder the same things myself sometimes, like when I clean the house why does it feel like my 3 children are going behind me messing it up again? hmm...

And why do I never crave vegetables--only sweets?

I was just looking at your flickr set of house photos. 'sigh, sigh, lust, lust." I love it! Aside from the work :) I want one of those!

You are speaking for me too! I love those items you showed on Vintage Thursday. I remember some like them from my grandma. Nice blog.

I always visit your blog on Vintage Thingie Thursday, today I just happen to notice your beautiful home on the side bar! I love it! I love old homes!
I am going to come back and try to find pictures of your home. I would love to see it!

He Hee....good post...I think we've all asked these same questions. If people would never come home after a good cleaning, it may stay clean for a while...not sure though.
Cleaning is ridiculous, because it has to be done time and time again.
I love a clean house, and sometimes, even enjoy the process if I have something going on inside that needs to be worked through...but honestly, it's such a bore of a chore!

as for the cleaning and maybe i'm older than all of you but don't you go through phases? I used to be a clean freak and now I realize that there are so many other things out there I want to do besides swim in the lysol and pledge. So I make sure it's livable and comfortable and semi-clean which is a lot less frustrating and a lot less work and I go be with the people who don't care if my house is spotless or there's no dust on my tables. Just works so much better for me at least.
